Becker conceived her latest record on a trip to the Florida Keys after being interviewed by a third generation radioman for an independent station called Pirate Radio. Utterly intrigued by this theme, she wrote a concept album about the historic usage of old ships for broadcasting, the future of independent radio and the endless challenges and rewards of speaking your truth and facing off with your darkest shadows.

While the album has a Caribbean-Latin feel, Kate’s sultry and soulful voice is deeply rooted in Jazz and Blues. Co-produced by Petie Ronstadt (Ronstadt Generations) and featuring some of Tucson's hottest Jazz, Latin and Mariachi musicians.

Kate Becker's second album "Soft Revolution" was released on May 21, 2010 at Sidewalk Café in New York City. A melding of styles conjured in the Arizona desert, borrowing elements of 70’s funk and fusion, vocal jazz and desert noir. The sophomore release has its own distinct sound and rhythm, with special appearances by some Tucson's top musicians

In 2002, in search of a small artistic town, Kate moved to Tucson, Arizona. After a couple years she started collaborating with the dynamic Gerald Massoud on upright bass. Together they wrote and produced Kate's debut album "The Kate Becker Project," in the studio of veteran engineer Jim Brady (Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris). The Kate Becker
